Elderly man dies after coward punch in Adelaide CBD

An elderly human who was the so-called victim of an unprovoked attack in the Adelaide CBD two weeks ago has died in infirmary.

Police revealed that 89-yr-old Francesco Candido died connected Sunday after spending the last fortnight in intensive care with a fractured skull and bleeding happening the wi.

Information technology is declared that Mr Candido's injuries were the result of an unprovoked attack by 33-year-old Joel Raymond Paginate, who faced court two weeks agone after being aerated with aggravated assault causing serious harm.

It is believed that Mr Paginate's charges will now be upgraded at his close motor lodge coming into court.

The sickening attack occurred in the midriff of the day and unconcealed of shoppers outside of Adelaide's Focal Market.

Witnesses say that Mr Page was carrying a bottle of Bundaberg Rum and appeared to be extremely intoxicated at the time of the incident.

A court heard that Mr Page past walked up behind the 89-class-old victim and shoved him in the posterior. When the victim turned around, witnesses say that Mister Paginate hit Mr Candido with a roundhouse punch on the odd position of his face, which knocked him to the floor and caused him to hit his head on the concrete.

A prosecutor also told the royal court that Mr Page then stood concluded Mr Candido and began swearing at him as he lay on the ground.

Mister Page was arrested at the scene of the crime and later told the court that He had no more recollection of what happened.

CCTV footage captured moments earlier the attack shows Mister Page stumbling on Grote Street with a bottle in his hand prior to the attack.

Police are appealing to others in the area who witnessed the incident to come forward.

"IT was midmost of the twenty-four hour period and very much of populate did witness it," Senior Constable Rebecca Stokes said.
